Major fire at waste recycling unit in Panoli

A major fire broke out at a hazardous waste recycling factory in Panoli industrial area of Bharuch on Friday. Nobody was injured in the incident.
Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) regional director A V Shah said that the fire broke out at Recycling Solutions Pvt Ltd (RSPL) due to static current or by some mistake of a worker.
“Work is on to control the fire. So far, nobody is hurt. Since the company recycles hazardous waste, three villages in the vicinity have been alerted about the fire,” Shah added. Fire tenders from Jhagadia, Ankleshwar, Bharuch and other companies were put in service to douse the fire.
Sources said that RSPL recycled harzardous waste and converted it into fuel that was used in cement manufacturing.
