Fire destroys workshop in Binh Duong

The firemen stamped out the fire which destroyed more than 5,000sq.m of wood workshop in Binh Duong Province.
A fire erupted at 10.30am today in an area of more than 5,000sq.m at Wang Feng Co Ltd in the southern province of Binh Duong’s Thuan An Town.
Workers from the company, which processes wood for export, said that the fire started at the paint workshop while the workers were taking a lunch break.
More than 10 fire engines were assigned to the spot.
The fire caused traffic jams as the company is near the Binh Duong Boulevard.
The fire was temporarily controlled at 1.20pm.
No casualties were reported.
The Vietnam News Agency’s correspondent reported that thousands of square metres of the workshop and a lots of wooden products were destroyed.
The losses are still being estimated.
Workers said that the workshop’s total area was 7,000sq.m. The company had more than 150 workers.
The police are investigating the cause of the fire.
