Security Guard Slashed In Suspected Arson In Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 (Bernama) — A local security guard was injured on his elbow and waist after being slashed in an incident at a construction site in Section 13 here today.
The victim, Zulkifli Mohd Saman, 64, was found near a burnt backhoe in the construction site.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director, Mohd Sani Harul said the victim was saved by firemen who received information of a fire in the engine compartment of the backhoe at 4.18 am.
“The man was sent to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for further treatment and the case was handed over to police for further investigations,” he said in a statement via WhatsApp today.
Meanwhile, Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat said the victim was seriously injured on the elbow, back and on both legs and police believed there was foul play in the burning of the machinery.
“Also razed was a cabin in the construction site,” he said.
He said investigations found the case was carried out by six suspects armed with machetes.
The victim was reported to be stable and the case was being investigated under Section 435 and 326 of the Penal Code, he said.
