Missing Car Found Razed In Selayang

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 14 (Bernama) — A Suzuki Swift which was reported missing in Mont Kiara last October was found burned in Taman Desa Bakti in Selayang near here Wednesday night.
Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy said initial investigations by a Fire and Rescue Forensic team showed there was foul play involved in the incident following the discovery of traces of petrol on the car.
“The number plate was also found to be fake while the car chasis showed it was a car reported missing in October last year,” he said when contacted today.
He added that police were alerted on the fire by a member of the public at about 9.52 pm.
However, Munusamy said no arrests had been made while the motive for the incident was still being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for causing mischief with fire.
He said people with information on the incident could contact the Sentul police headquarters to assist investigations.
Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operation officer Samsol Maarif Saibani said a fire engine with seven firemen from the Jinjang station rushed to the location at about 9.58 pm.
“The car was 90 per cent razed when the fire was completely put out at about 10.15 pm,” he said.
