Fire at plastic goods unit, no one hurt

A fire broke out in a plastic goods manufacturing factory in Etmadaula on Monday morning. The incident took place barely a stone’s throw from a patrol pump. Five fire tenders were pressed into service to control the fire. It took two hours to douse the fire, sources said.A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.
The fire accident took place in a plastic ball manufacturing factory on Agra-Hathras road around 8 am on Monday. The factory is owned by Ankit Deneria.
A petrol pump is situated barely meters away from the spot. As the petrol pump employees saw flames rising from the factory, they rushed to the spot. The petrol pump was vacated within minutes to avoid any untoward situation.
The locals called the fire brigade which reached at the spot nearly half an hour after the fire broke out. The residents attempted to control the fire but failed as the plastic goods had already caught fire and tall flames were visible from a distance.
Nearly, five fire brigade vans took two hours to battle the blaze. Chief fire officer Jasveer Singh also reached at the spot to supervise the situation. The CFO claimed that the reason for the accident is unknown but a short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.
Ankit Deneria, the factory owner said goods worth rupees several lakhs had turned into ash in the mishap. He added that factory has power connection but he and the other staff made sure to switch off power connection after closing the factory everyday. He ruled out chance of a short circuit.
