Fire at school, students evacuated

A fire was detected at CMO Girls’ High School in Peter Lane in the Bowbazar area on Thursday morning.
Fire department sources said that three fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames that engulfed the fifth floor of the building.
No one was injured as school authorities managed a full evacuation within a short time. An investigation is on to ascertain the cause of the fire.
