Fire breaks out at restaurant at Serangoon Road, no injuries reported

SINGAPORE – A fire broke out at a restaurant along Serangoon Road on Tuesday afternoon (Jan 26).
No injuries were reported, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said.
SCDF was alerted to the fire at 291, Serangoon Road, at about 4.40pm on Tuesday.
It dispatched one fire engine, three red rhinos and three support vehicles to the scene.
The fire, which involved an exhaust duct at the restaurant, was put out using one water jet, SCDF told The Straits Times.
The SCDF added that it is investigating the cause of the fire.
ST reader Syed Shahul Hameed said that he could see smoke from the fire from his house on Serangoon Road.
“The thick white smoke billowed from the building,” he said.
