Fire Makes Three Single Mothers Homeless In Mersing

MERSING, Jan 27 (Bernama) — Three single mothers were made homeless when a fire destroyed their houses in Kampung Mersing Kanan, Sri Lalang Laut, near here Tuesday night.
Mersing Fire and Rescue Station chief Alias Husin said the fire which occurred at about 11pm was brought under control quickly and several other houses nearby were saved from the blaze.
“A total of 12 firemen in two trucks were mobilised in the operation. The fire was completely extinguished at 1.29am,” he told Bernama after the operation ended here last night.
However, the cause of fire was still under investigation, said Alias.
Meanwhile, Mersing UMNO Youth head Hishamuddin Husin, who handed over contributions to the victims at the village, said they were looking into ways to assist the victims find temporary shelter.
