Updated: 2016-01-31 12:00
DUNGUN, Jan 31 (Bernama) — Four premises involving two motorcycle workshops, a car workshop and a food outlet were destroyed in a fire in Kampung Cacar here at 7 pm yesterday.
Car workshop owner Che Musa Jusoh, 51, said he was at a nearby restaurant with his workers when he heard a small explosion.
“I ran to my workshop and found it was on fire. I quickly ordered my workers to drive out clients’ cars and take out all items from the workshop,” he told reporters at the scene.
According to Che Musa, he only managed to save several important items as the fire had started to spread to a container which he used as a store near the shop.
Meanwhile, Dungun Fire and Rescue Department operations chief deputy superintendent Khairul Hasni Mokhtar said 15 firemen in three fire engines rushed to the scene upon being notified about the fire.
He said the fire was put under control 30 minutes later, there was no loss of life and the cause of fire was still being investigated.
