Three killed as fire engulfs house

A woman and her two children were killed when fire engulfed their house in Rozam village of Dahod taluka early on Friday morning.
A short circuit is said to be the reason for the fire that gutted three houses in all.
The fire broke out at one of the three houses early on Friday morning. Since the houses in the Holi Faliya locality of the village were made of mud and wood, the flames spread to two other houses in the locality.
A woman Niru Rathod (35) was sleeping inside her house with daughter Rinkal (8) and son Ravishankar (11). Ravishankar rushed out of the house in flames and local residents rushed to his help. But sources said that he was badly charred and died before he could be taken to a hospital.
While the villagers were trying to help Ravishankar, they did not realise that Niru and Rinkal were trapped inside. Their bodies were found later by the villagers. Dahod fire brigade too had rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
