Fire kills three in Itanagar

Three persons of a family were charred to death in a devastating fire that completely destroyed a thatched hut at Bat village, near here, early on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Bake Tagin (30), his wife Bake Ana (26) and their four-year-old daughter Bake Neme, said Itanagar’s extra assistant commissioner J Bomjen. The cause of the inferno is yet to be ascertained. According to their neighbour Bake Takar, the child’s body was found wrapped in a blanket. Local MLA Techi Kaso and Bomjen rushed to the spot and extended financial help for conducting the last rites of the victims.
Kaso blamed haphazard power connections without following the laid-down rules behind the frequent fire accidents in and around the capital complex and the state. A case was registered at Itanagar police station, Bomjen said.
