Glue factory destroyed in fire in Sandakan

A glue-making factory in Kampung Cenderamata, Jalan Batu Sapi near here was destroyed in a fire Sunday.
Head of the Fire and Rescue Department for Sandakan zone, Anddre Andrew said the Fire and Rescue personnel managed to control the fire from spreading to two factories, including a gas factory, nearby.
He said 24 firemen together with a tanker, two fire engines and five utility vehicles were rushed to the scene of the incident shortly after receiving the distress call at 8.22pm.
The fire was brought under control at 10pm and was completely put out at 11.47pm, he said here yesterday.
He said there were no human casualties while the cause of the fire and estimated losses were still under investigation.
