9 Squatter Houses Destroyed In Fire At Pantai Dalam

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 (Bernama) — Nine squatter houses were destroyed in a fire at Jalan Kubur, Pantai Dalam here Tuesday.
Two vehicles were damaged in the noon blaze which was believed to have been caused by a short-circuit.
Wilayah Persekutuan Fire and Rescue Department assistant superintendent, Husaini Mahidin said the blaze was brought under control about an hour later.
Contractor Mohd Din Aziz, 48, said he and family members were left with just the clothes on their back after their house was destroyed in the incident.
“During the incident, I was repairing a leaking roof when I noticed raging flames from the rear of the house.
“I told my wife, two children and sister-in-law to take cover. I only managed to take some important documents before the fire destroyed our house.”
He said he had lived in Pantai Dalam over the past 18 years.
