Two minors killed in Taplejung fire

PHIDIM: Two minors died and two others sustained burn injuries in a fire broken out at a house in Sawadin VDC of Taplejung district on Monday.
According to Taplejung District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as Phurba Sherpa (5), son of Pemadawa Sherpa, and Dashi Sherpa (3) son of neigbour Kalbir Sherpa.
The two others who sustained burn injuries were daughters of Pemadawa Sherpa: Phurba (8) and Chauri (11).
The house of Pemadawa was completely gutted in fire.
The incident occurred when parents of the deceased had gone to attend a wedding in a nearby village and the minors were left unattended.
DSP Ram Bahadur KC suspected that the un-doused fire in the kitchen might have sparked the fire in the house.
The two injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital, police said.
