Major fire at Vashi bank

A major fire broke out at the State Bank of Maharashtra located in sector 2, Vashi on Thursday around 7.45am. There were no casualties as the bank had not opened for the day. The cause of fire is presumed to be short circuit.
As the bank is at a stone’s throw distance from the Vashi police station, the cops at the Vashi police station saw the smoke billowing out of the bank’s building and informed the Vashi fire station.
The fire was extinguished after one hour of fire fighting operation. Presently, the cooling process in going on, informed Vashi fire station incharge Vijay Rane.
