Bangladeshi Woman Killed, Nine Others Injured In Langkawi Accident

LANGKAWI, Feb 18 (Bernama) — A Bangladeshi woman was killed while her husband and two children were seriously injured after the car they were in was involved in a collision with a van in Jalan Pantai Kok here at 5.30pm Thursday.

Joynob Abedin, 32, from Dhaka, died on the way to the Langkawi Hospital.

Langkawi Fire and Rescue chief Senior Assistant Superintendent Yaakob Hassan said her husband whose identity had yet to be ascertained was pinned in the driver’s seat while her two children were flung out of the car due to the impact.

Six out of the eight occupants in the van were also seriously injured. All the injured were sent to the same hospital in ambulances and passing cars.
