Fire rages dozen houses in Saptari

SAPTARI: A fire destroyed a dozen of houses at Maleth VDC in Saptari district this morning, turning the property worth around Rs. 1.5 million including cash Rs.500, 000 into ashes.
The fire broke out from a cowshed of Kundan Safiya, said police.
The inferno destroyed four houses of Safiya, two of Samar Sadam, two of Dambar Sadam, one of Parashuram Sadam, one of Chhotar Sadam and two of Amiri Sadam.
Likewise, the fire has destroyed notes of Rs 500,000 belonging to Kundan Sada, said DSP at District Police Office, Saptari, Shyam Singh Chaudhary.
It has ravaged food grains, clothes, jewelries and other valuables of his family. Locals doused the fire with the help of fire engines coming from Rajbiraj and Lahan.
Meanwhile, the inferno that took place yesterday had turned 20 houses in Pakari, Phattepur and Didhawa VDCs of Saptari.
