Fire at BRAC Centre at Dhaka’s Mohakhali

BRAC Centre at Dhaka’s Mohakhali has caught fire.
Several units of fire-fighters rushed to the spot when the fire broke out on the building’s fourth floor at around 6:45pm on Saturday.
The fire-fighters brought the fire under control after about an hour.
The authorities are yet to ascertain the reasons behind the fire.
Fire Service and Civil Defence Deputy Director Mozammel Haque told bdnews24.com they suspected an electric short circuit had sparked the fire.
It gutted documents, computers, telephone sets and furniture, he said.
A BRAC official who rushed out of the building said the fire had broken out at the human resources section of the NGO.
bdnews24.com Chief Crimes Correspondent Liton Haider reported from the spot that smoke had engulfed the first to the fourth floors of the building.
A lift operator fell sick and was sent to hospital, he added.
