Fire hits hotel in Mandaluyong
Updated: 2016-02-27-00:00
A fire hit a three-story building of the Bermuda Hotel and Restaurant in Mandaluyong City yesterday, destroying P500,000 worth of property.
Nobody was hurt in the fire, which started on the third floor of the hotel’s restaurant Station 3 just before 11 a.m., said Senior Fire Officer 2 Cesar Sabare, arson investigator.
The hotel’s automatic sprinkler system failed to stop the flames, which spread toward adjacent rooms, Sabare said.
Witnesses said the hotel evacuated its guests even though they were billeted in a separate building.
The fire reached second alarm before it was put out an hour later. Arson probers have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
