Infant dies in house fire

A 7-month-old infant died after a makeshift house in a village in Greater Noida caught fire on Friday night. Rest of the family escaped with minor injures.
Police said, the father of the infant has been identified as Ramji who worked as a labourer on the bank of Hindon. He lived with his wife and three children. “They were all sleeping at night when the hut suddenly caught fire from a lamp’s flame,” said police. Ramji and his wife managed to escape the fire with two children but the infant received injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. TNNSome residents called police and fire tender which doused the fire. Vijendra Singh Vadana, Station Officer of Eco-Tech police station, said that Police have registered a case in this regard.
