Bijnor’s Haldaur police station catches fire; over a dozen vehicles burnt to ashes

The district’s Haldaur police station caught fire under suspicious circumstances on Wednesday morning, leaving over a dozen vehicles parked inside the police station burnt completely.
However, no casualties were reported. The vehicles parked in the premises of the police station were seized by the police for violation of traffic rules.
“There is a field behind the police station. We think someone threw a beedi or a cigarette at the green cover, which may have caused the fire. The fire spread On Wednesday morning suddenly, the premise caught fire. After few minutes, the fire spread and the vehicles caught fire. We tried dousing the fire but we had to call the fire brigade,” SHO Haldaur, Pradeep Kumar Yadav said. Over 12 vehicles including four bikes, three cars, one van were burnt.
