Three hurt in Vadodara fire

Three workers were injured after fire broke out a residence on Gotri-Sevasi Road on Tuesday evening. According to the fire brigade officials, the fire was caused when the workers were installing furniture for a mini home theatre at the Prince Villa Club House.
The injured persons were identified as Sonu Haqimulla (20), Mohammad Rizwan (32) and Mezbhan Sheikh (22). The trio were rushed to the hospital in a critical condition. “The workers were installing seats made of rexin when the incident took place. There was inflammable liquid and some live wires lying in the vicinity. We believe the fire must have been caused when the live wires came in contact with the chemicals,” said fire officer Om Jadeja.
He added that smoke ventilation systems were used by the firefighters to clear the thick smoke at the spot.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. There were five workers at the spot, but two of them fled from the spot after the fire. All the workers were from Ahmedabad.
