60 Tahfiz Centre Students Left Without A Roof After Hostel Burns Down

SHAH ALAM, March 7 (Bernama) — Sixty students from Maahad Tahfiz Darul Itqan Al-Muhammadi were left without a roof over their heads, after their dormitories were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Batu 40, Sabak Bernam, near here, Monday morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said, however, there were no casualties in the incident which occurred at about 5 am.
“The fire has destroyed almost the entire building and the exact cause and losses incurred were still being investigated,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the school principal Mohd Sharif Musa said during the incident all students, aged 13 to 20, were sleeping in the building which housed the three dormitories.
“Students who were in the dormitory woke up after smelling smoke and left the dorm to save themselves.
“The fire also spread quickly and the students did not have the time to do anything,” he said.
He said the fire also destroyed an office and store room located near the hostel.
