Fire breaks out at a company in Halol

A major fire broke out in the godown of a pipe manufacturing company in Halol on Sunday evening. Goods worth lakhs were damaged in the fire. However, there were no casualties. The fire broke around 6pm at Kemrock Industries and Exports Limited.
“We got a call at around 6.30pm. It took us nearly four hours to douse the fire. The materials that got damaged were fibre leading to carbon monoxide making it difficult to fight the fire,” said fire officer Om Jadeja.
A fire engine and a group of six fire fighters from the city were at the spot. Despite fire safety installations at the godown, there was no adequate water supply there, sources said.”The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were about nine trucks that were parked next to the compound wall of the godown. These vehicles were damaged in the fire,” Jadeja added.
The incident of fire in the district in less than a week’s time. On Tuesday, three workers suffered injuries after a fire broke out a residence on Gotri-Sevasi Road. The fire was caused when the workers were installing furniture for a mini home theatre at Prince Villa Club House. The injured persons were identified as Sonu Haqimulla (20), Mohammad Rizwan (32) and Mezbhan Sheikh (22).
