Updated: 2016-03-09-10:35
A 54-year-old woman died in a fire in a flea market in Barangay Parang, Marikina City, before dawn Wednesday.
Fire Senior Inspector Elmer Marolina of the Marikina City’s fire bureau identified the victim as Rebecca Bagiwong.
Marolina said the fire started from a videoke bar in the flea market at the corner of Molina and E. Rodriguez Street at past 3 a.m.
The fire also razed the beauty parlor, where Bagiwong was sleeping.
It was Bagiwong’s first day as a manicurist at the beauty parlor, her husband, Frankie, told GMA News.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
