Woman sets two sons, self on fire in Tamil Nadu

A family dispute forced a woman to set herself and her two sons on fire in Tamil Nadu on Thursday. The woman and her one son died while another son was battling for life.
Police said Kavitha, 28, wife of Saravanan of Pudukulam in Muthupatti near Thiruparankundram, doused her sons -Harikrishnan (5) and Sarveswaran (1) — with kerosene before pouring the fuel on herself. She then held her sons close to her and set herself on fire.
Hearing Kavitha’s and her children’s cries, neighbours rushed to the house. However, Kavitha and the younger boy had died by then.
Harikrishnan, who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai.
