Fire engulfs furniture industries in Bara

BARA: Property worth Rs 15 million was gutted today when fire engulfed seven furniture industries in Bariyapur, Bara.
The fire that started from the Hareram Mandal’s furniture due to short circuit had spread to Sant Kumar Thakur Furniture Industry, Ramashankar Furniture Industry, Ramnakaman Mai Saw Mill, and Priti Sharma Furniture Industry among others.
Fire brigade with the help of police personnel and locals had later doused the fire and pulled down two dozen houses to prevent further damage.
Likewise, a massive fire that had been raging in the Gulmi’s religious and historical site Resunga Jungle for the past six days was brought under control today. Gulmi CDO Kabindra Nepal said the fire was put out following the relentless efforts of the Nepal Police, Nepali Army and locals.
The blaze had destroyed the forest spread in 2,000 hectares of land.
District Administration Office and District Forest Office have urged the locals to provide information about the people responsible for the fire.
Meanwhile, fire in the Balde Community Forest at Hwangdi VDC in Gulmi is yet to brought under control. Locals said that no one has come forward to extinguish the blaze.
In another fire incident today, property worth Rs 1.5 million was destroyed when fire engulfed Parsuram Acharya’s house at Jorpokhari of Nayagaun VDC in Gulmi.
