Fire guts 60 houses in Banke village

BANKE: A fire gutted over 60 houses in Wards No. 2, 3 and 4 of Holiya VDC in Banke district across the Rapti River on Tuesday, police said.
The fire had broken out from the house of Bahadur Yadav this afternoon and engulfed 60 houses and barns to reduce them to cinder in no time.
Detail damage of the fire is awaited.
The fire victims said that more houses were gutted due to delay of arrival of the fire engine in the village from Nepalgunj. The village lies 18 kilometers southeast to Nepalgunj.
