Updated: 2016-03-23-14:15
A fire broke out yesterday, destroying nearly 20,000 tonnes of sliced cassavas.
A fire broke out at about 8pm yesterday, destroying nearly 20,000 tonnes of sliced cassavas belonging to Phú Lợi Private Company in Ia Dêr Commune.
The fire and high columns of smoke, several metres high, covered the whole 6,000sqm-wide store, and quickly spread out to a neighbouring store containing coffee, cashew nuts and pepper owned by Sơn Huyền Company in the central highland Gia Lai Province’s Ia Grai District.
The company shifted 100 tonnes of cashew nuts and pepper to a safe place just in time.
