Fire Destroys Dining Hall Of 516 Regiment Of Territorial Army

TAWAU, April 3 (Bernama) — The dining hall of the 516 Regiment of the Territorial Army in Kukusan Camp here was destroyed in a fire Sunday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Department deputy chief Faisal Ahmad said firefighters were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 9.32am and the fire was brought under control half an hour later.
He said 80 per cent of the building was destroyed.
“The loss has yet to be determined,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, in BUTTERWORTH, a furniture warehouse owner in Jalan Permatang Pauh here suffered a loss of more than RM100,000 in a fire today.
Perai Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohd Fauzi Suid said they received a distress call at 8.12am and the fire was put out completely about half an hour later.
