Fire in industrial unit in Vasai, no injuries

A fire broke out in two plastic manufacturing units in an industrial estate in Vasai early Friday. No injuries were reported though the two units were gutted in the fire.
According to the Vasai Virar municipal corporation (VVMC) fire brigade, the fire broke in C G Plastics and Creative Plastics, located in Poonam Industrial Estate, Navghar, Vasai (east) at around 12 am. The two units located adjacent to each other were completely gutted, said the fire brigade. Fire fighting was on till around 5 am. A short circuit is believed to have caused the fire. Eye witnesses said that the fire spread from one unit to another and by 2 am, both the units were reduced to ash.
The fire caused panic among residents in the locality. Fire tenders from Mira-Bhayander and Andheri MIDC were pressed into service.
