Fire at army radar centre; no casualties
Updated: 2016-04-05-22:52

A fire broke out at the army radar centre in Kankerkhera area of Meerut on Tuesday afternoon. The fire, the reasons for which are being investigated, was doused in three hours. No casualties were reported.

Gyan Prakash, fire station officer, said, “The fire incident was reported at 11am. We rushed to the spot with six fire tenders. It took us three hours to douse the fire. The fire basically started at the premises of the radar centre which has a thick layer of grass but we reached just in time and ensured that the fire did not spread further.”

“We are suspecting that the fire was caught due to a short circuit. But still nothing concrete can be said unless investigations are complete. No casualties were reported from the spot,” he added.
