500 Donors Offer Aid To Victims Of Fire In Tawau

TAWAU, April 17 (Bernama) — About 500 donors, including individuals, organisations, local leaders and political parties in Sabah have come forward to assist victims affected by fire in Tanah Merah, Batu 2, Jalan Apas and Block 10 Kampung Titingan.
In the incident on Wednesday, more than 1,000 residents were left homeless after 183 houses were razed in the fire.
Tawau member of Parliament Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching hoped those who can afford will continue to aid the victims.
“Contributions and assistance from various quarters has helped ease the burden of the victims,” she said when speaking at the presentation of donations to the victims of the fire, here Sunday.
At the event, Yap, who is also Deputy Minister of Education presented cash assistance from the Tawau parliamentary constituency.
