A six-year-old girl was burnt to death after a fire spread through the fields in Mohanlalganj, on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Prachi, a resident of Bhilanpur village and was attending nature’s call in the fields, when the incident took place at 5 a.m.
Her father, Kamlesh, was sleeping inside the house with her mother while her five siblings were sleeping outside, when the fire broke.
“Kamlesh’s fields accidentally caught fire which lead to Prachi’s death and later spread to his shanty. The exact cause of fire could not be known,” said SHO, Mohanlalganj, RK Shukla.
The police said that Kamlesh managed to escape after he woke up to the noises of the villagers who were trying to alert him.
