Short-circuit triggers fire at BHEL staffer’s home
Updated: 2016-04-16-07:28
A fire broke out in the house of a BHEL employee on Friday morning. Initial reports suggested a burglar entered the locked house and set it on fire before escaping.
However, police said it was only a fire incident and nothing is missing from the house. Blaze gutted goods worth lakhs in Hitesh Lachhwani’s house.
“He is residing alone these days. He locked his flat and left for work in the morning. However, local residents witnessed flames from his flat after which the fire tender was called and situation was brought under control after some time,” cops said.
Police said the fire was a result of short circuit.
“The victim had installed a new air conditioner in his house and the fire was believed to be from the AC,” cops said adding that further investigation remains underway. Fire started from bedroom and spread to other parts of flat, including drawing room.
