DOLPA: Two incidents of wildfire that engulfed two community forests in Liku VDC in Dolpa district are yet to be doused.
A fire had started on April 20 at Kalika Community Forest and another a week before at Chunku Community Forest.
The Kalika Community Forest and the Chunku Community Forest have been destroyed with the infernos destroying precious trees and shrubs valued at millions of rupees.
The fire is beyond the control due to winds, said local Yam Prasad Acharya. He blamed the concerned authority as they were reluctant to take initiatives to douse the fire.
On the other hand, the Dolpa District Forest Office has stated that the Office has deputed the officials to the incident site to douse the fires.
Though the locals were trying to douse the fire, the efforts remained futile, locals complained.
The locals have suspected that some wildlife poachers might have set the fire.
