40 tenders try to douse fire in Categorised Market

Fire broke out at a plywood godown in Categorised Marketon Tuesday.
Police said the godown belonged to Saleem Sehori who deals in plywood and railway scrap. Two-storeyed godown caught fire on Monday midnight that continued till 9 on Tuesday morning.
Around 40 fire tenders battled from three sides of godown to bring the situation under control. There is an electric pole close to the godown.
It was suspected that sparks from the pole triggered the fire.Three members of a family had a close shave as a major fire broke out at a house in Piplani while goods worth lakhs were gutted at a godown in New Categorised Market in Hanumanganj in another fire incident reported in the city.
In another incident, in Piplani, fire broke out at the house of Mukesh Malviya at Satnami Nagar slum area on Tuesday morning. Mukesh, his wife Seema and their daughter Nishi were at home. Seema was making tea when the incident occurred.
Initially, curtains caught fire and soon it engulfed the entire house. There was a minor explosion in his motorbike’s petrol tank.
The trio rushed out and managed to save their lives. Household goods, cash and valuables total worth Rs 2.5 lakh were gutted in blaze. Fire tenders battled for close to five hours to bring the situation under control. There are slums all around, but the situation was controlled before fire could spread to other homes, cops added.
