Anxious Moments For Patrons Of UiTM Cafeteria As Fire Destroyed Stall

SHAH ALAM, April 27 (Bernama) — Fire broke out at the cafeteria of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) this morning.
In the 8am incident, smoke filled the ground floor of the cafeteria, which caused the patrons to flee for cover.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harun said the fire started at one of the stalls selling pastries. However, the fire was put out after the sprinkler system was activated.
“At the same time, employees used a fire hose at the cafe to put out the flames,” he said in a statement, here Wednesday.
Mohd Sani said they received a distress call about 8.15am and by the time the fire department arrived the fire was already extinguished.
No casualties or injuries were reported. About 50 per cent of the stall was destroyed in the fire.
