Forest fires have been raging in the far-west region for the past two weeks ago. “Considering the magnitude of the forest fires, district natural disaster committees of Doti and Dadeldhura have mobilised security personnel, including the Nepali Army and Nepal Police, along with the community forest officials and locals.

The fires have so far spread over 72,990 hectares of forest land in community, national and private forests in the region.
