Updated: 2016-05-02-06:36
A major fire broke out in a factory situated on Sanwer Road near Deepmala Dhaba on Sunday afternoon. No casualty has been reported in the incident. However, goods worth lakhs of rupees have been destroyed. Fire fighters were rushed to the spot and doused the flames in nearly seven hours. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
According to fire department officials, fire broke out at Cooling Tag, which is situated on Sanwer Road. The department got the information around 1:30 pm. Fire fighters were rushed to the spot soon after the fire broke out but were not able to control the flames, claimed locals.
“More staff was deployed, when we got to know that the fire could not be doused,” said Rajesh Sahay, SP fire department.
“A total of four fire tenders were sent to the scene. Material worth lakhs of rupees were gutted but no casualty reported. We managed to douse the flames before it spread to nearby factories,” he said.
Officials said that the exact cause of fire is yet to be known but prima facie a short circuit appears to be the cause.
