Fire at farsan godown in Karelibaug Estate

Food items worth lakhs were gutted in fire that broke out in a godown in Karelibaug Industrial Estate on Monday.
Fire brigade officials said that the fire was sparked due to electrical short circuit at around 7am in Varsha Food.
“Six fire fighters rushed to the spot and it took an hour to douse the blaze. There were two containers filled with diesel at the spot but fortunately they did not explode. We prevented the fire from spreading to other units located near the spot,” said Manish Mod, fire officer.
There was no staff or security guards in the premises when the fire broke out.
Damaged goods included raw materials that were used to make farsan.
This is the second incident of fire in less than a week’s time. On April 29, ten two-wheelers were gutted in fire in the compound of Kishanwadi police station.
