Fire officer injured in massive fire at Ghatkopar

A fire officer was seriously injured during firefighting operation at Ghatkopar on early Friday. The fire broke out around 3 am at Gautam Nagar on Mankhurd Link Road.
The fire brigade managed to brought the fire under control in a four-hour struggle. Officials stated that a local resident sustained minor injury and the fire station officer had sustained serious injuries in the incident. The local resident was discharged from the hospital after the treatment.
Officials stated that a few gas cylinders exploded during the fire injuring the fire officer. He was rushed to the nearby civic hospital. The civic authority decided to shift him to Airoli burns centre for further treatment.
The fire brigade collected several unexplored gas cylinders from the area. They are investigating the cause of fire.
The fire brigade had deployed 16 fire Engine and 8 water tanker along with other machinery in the firefighting.
