Fire damages school building in Lanao town

An hour-long fire damaged a one classroom-school building in the interior village of Mamaanon in Salvador, Lanao del Norte early Monday morning.
According to Rasmila Macarambon Cosain, Elections Task Force member from the Lanao del Norte Schools Division Office told GMA News that “the school principal of Mamaanon Amihan Mangontawar called us that before the fire occurred, a series of guns shoots and loud explosion were heard.”
“The room is supposed to be utilized for the election but the Vote Counting Machine is still at the Poblacion Salvador,” Cosain added. “The 5th Mechanized Infantry Battalion led by Lieutenant Colonel Galeleo Goyena Jr. and the Philippine National Police went to the area to respond the incident.”
Provincial Police Director Senior Superintendent Madidi Maricor Paitao meanwhile said, “I am still waiting for the report from the PNP report in Salavador.”
At 4:30 a.m., a bomb went off in a school building in the village of Camp -3 damaging the facility.
Cosain said armed men were seen at the school building which also serves as a voting facility moments before the bomb exploded.”
