Fire in hosiery unit in Shivpuri

A major fire broke out at a hosiery unit in Shivpuri area on Tuesday evening. The employees were working in the unit when the fire broke out around 6pm, however no casualty was reported, said fire safety official Rajkumar who was present at the spot. According to the information, 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Goods and machinery worth lakhs got perished in the blaze, the reason behind which is uncertain.
Panic gripped the congested area as high flames could be seen from long distances and also, the fire was spreading due to strong winds in the evening. However, no nearby building was damaged, said Rajkumar. Efforts were still on to douse the flames till filing of this report, and additional divisional fire officer Bhupinder Singh said that they will conduct an inspection after flames will be doused to check for possible casualties.
