A FIRE broke out at a factory located within the compound of the Insein Locomotive Factory in Yangon on Sunday, damaging two factories and industrial raw materials.
According to an investigation, the fire was caused by an overheated electric board installed in the factory. The flame spread to the industrial raw materials and factory furniture and badly destroyed the two plants—a 1,250-squarefoot plastic seeds factory and a 2,400-square-foot plastic factory.
Police say no one was injured in the fire.
Police received a call for fire services at 3:40am. With the assistance of residents and Red Cross volunteers, 400 firefighters controlled the blaze within 50 minutes with the use of 10 water tankers and 37 fire engines.
Action has been taken against U Nay Win, 50, the owner of the plastic seeds factory, who will be charged under the Criminal Law
