Fire gutted at least 30 homes in an informal settlers’ area in Project 2, Quezon City, before dawn Saturday.
The blaze broke out at past 3 a.m. in a residential area along Pajo Street in Barangay Quirino 2A.
Investigators suspect that the fire started from the house of a certain Allan Helira and that it was caused by an unattended candle.
Power supply in the area has been out since Wednesday.
No one was reported hurt from the fire, which was declared out at 4:49 a.m.
Barangay officials said at least 100 families were affected by the fire.
The authorities pegged the fire’s damage at P500,000.
