Fire guts another govt building in city

Another government building was gutted in fire as a huge inferno engulfed the premises of the state vocational education and skill development department located near Kapoorthala crossing, on Wednesday.
Computer systems and government records kept on the first floor of the Aliganj building were destroyed in the fire. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The situation was brought under control within 90 minutes.
The fire, which erupted at around 9.30 a.m., occurred barely two days after the Mandi Parishad building was gutted in a fire, on Sunday.
