Two vehicle accidents cause fire

A FORD vehicle being driven by one Mr. Balasta Joseptnoral crashed into a Hijet vehicle which had stopped due to engine breakdown between mileposts 61/1 and 61/2 on the Yangon-Mandalay highway on Tuesday.
After the accident both vehicles became engulfed by fire. The accident killed Hijet driver U Win Naing and injured another man in the same vehicle.
On that same day another accident occurred around 1pm between mileposts 49/0 and 49/1 on the Yangon-Mandalay highway.
According to an investigation a Toyota Mark II being driven by one U Myint Ko Kyaw with two passengers on board crashed into road-dividing barriers in the Two vehicle accidents cause fire middle of the road when the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle. After the accident the car overturned and was engulfed by fire. Two passengers were injured in the accident. The fire was put down by firemen. Local police opened a case and have filed charges against the driver.
