Fire destroys godown

A fire broke out at a factory’s godown on Dehlon Road near Sahnewal on Friday morning. No casualty was reported, however, goods worth crores were destroyed. Reason behind the fire is said to be short-circuit. Fire broke out at Vallabh Textiles Company Limited around 7am at a time when workers were inside the factory.
Factory owner Sanjeev Arora said that towels and some materials was stored in the godown. He said that before the fire brigade could reach the spot, employees also tried to douse the flames with fire extinguishers and other means but they were not able to do so. The fire tender took around three hours to douse the flames, he said.
