LUDHIANA: Abrasives worth lakhs were engulfed in a fire that broke out in a factory near Hambran road on Saturday.
According to the manager of Rudhra Abrasive, short circuit was the reason behind the incident. “We had to rush all the workers out. Though there was not much damage to the building, material worth lakhs was gutted0. We called the fire department as soon as the fire broke out, but they did not arrive in time and we had to douse the fire ourselves.”
However, the divisional officer at fire station said, a??We sent four fire tenders and 20-25 fire fighters on the spot. The fire was brought under control in an hour.
On Friday, a cycle parts factory at Focal Point was completely destroyed in a massive fire.
